Last Thursday, we brought four incredible Louisiana country music singer-songwriters to Alexandria for Songs for St. Jude, where music brought people together for something much bigger than ourselves.

Hosted at Somerset House, the evening featured intimate performances from Kylie Frey, Alex Smith, Dan Smalley, and Hadlie Jo, who shared the stories behind their songs while helping raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
By the end of the night, our Louisiana country music community had helped raise more than $30,000 in support of St. Jude and the children and families they serve.
More Than a Concert

While the songs made for an unforgettable evening, one of the most powerful moments came when Melissa Calhoun, whose family had been impacted by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, shared her story.
Hearing firsthand how St. Jude has supported their family was a moving reminder of why everyone had gathered that evening. It put a face to the mission and showed exactly how every ticket purchased, every donation, every silent auction bid, and every act of generosity helps make a difference.
It was a moment that won't soon be forgotten.
A Community That Showed Up

Thank you to Dustin Matthews for his vision and dedication to making this event possible. Thank you to Somerset House for welcoming everyone with incredible hospitality. Thank you to every sponsor, volunteer, business that donated silent auction items, and every person who attended in support of St. Jude.
It was also a privilege to introduce so many people to Kylie Frey while welcoming Alex Smith, Dan Smalley, and Hadlie Jo back to Central Louisiana for an unforgettable writers round.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who helped make this night such an incredible success. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on children and families who need it most.
Looking Ahead

Events like Songs for St. Jude remind us that music has the power to do so much more than entertain. It brings people together, strengthens communities, and creates opportunities to make a real difference.
This night was a beautiful example of what can happen when artists, businesses, volunteers, and music fans rally around a shared purpose. Together, we celebrated Louisiana Country Music while helping support children and families who need it most.
We hope this is just the beginning. We look forward to creating more events that bring our Louisiana Country Music community together, strengthen the communities we call home, and make a lasting difference through the power of music.
How to Support St. Jude
One of the reasons St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has earned the support of so many people is its commitment to the families it serves. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus on what matters most: helping their child heal.
If you'd like to continue making a difference, here are a few ways to support St. Jude:
