LCM Mardi Gras Takeover in Nashville, TN

Last week we brought Mardi Gras to Nashville — twice.

Louisiana Country Music partnered with Explore Louisiana for two packed shows featuring artists with Louisiana ties. Fans and artists walked in curious and walked out in beads, hats, and full Louisiana spirit.

By the end of the shows, the Louisiana community we’re building in Nashville was on full display.

Whiskey Jam — Whiskey Row

We kicked things off Monday night at Whiskey Jam inside Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row on Broadway with Payton Smith, Kylie Frey, CJ Solar, John Hollier, Joe Bryson, and Alex Smith.

Thanks to Explore Louisiana, everyone snagged free Louisiana hats, shirts, and beads — and by the end of the set, Broadway looked more purple, green, and gold than neon. It was clear this wasn’t just another Monday night lineup at Whiskey Jam — the crowd stayed locked in, and artists who didn’t previously know each other were hanging out side-stage like they’d been friends for years.

Between the turnout and the energy, it felt less like Louisiana visiting Nashville and more like Louisiana claiming its space inside Nashville. It was proof that when both worlds collide, you get a night of really good country music.

Porchlight Pickers — The Local

The vibe shifted into more of a back-porch feel — a true songwriter night. Beads still decorated the stage, but this time the focus was on the stories. Artists took time to explain where the songs came from, what they meant, and how they were written.

It was a packed, buzzing room, and in between songs you could see real connections being made — writers meeting for the first time, artists planning co-writes, and listeners discovering someone they’d never heard before and becoming instant fans.

If Monday showed the energy Louisiana can bring, Tuesday showed the depth behind it.

What Should We Do Next Year?

Two nights, packed rooms, and a Louisiana community growing in Nashville.

Thank you to the fans who attended, the artists who were involved, and our partners at Explore Louisiana.

Who knows — maybe next Mardi Gras you’ll see Louisiana Country Music bring a parade down Broadway… or even an artist takeover at the Grand Ole Opry. Imagine legends like Trace Adkins, Kix Brooks, and Lainey Wilson alongside rising Louisiana artists like Kylie Frey, Payton Smith, and CJ Solar.
