The album also featured Crazy Over Me, an earlier single that gave Scott his first Top 40 hit on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts. Six years later, fellow north Louisiana native Jordan Davis, born and raised in Shreveport, released Next Thing You Know on August 12, 2022. The song, which Davis co-wrote with Chase McGill, Greylan James, and Josh Osborne, traces a relationship from bachelorhood through marriage, fatherhood, and beyond in the span of a single ballad.
Next Thing You Know became the third single from Davis's second studio album, Bluebird Days, and went on to earn RIAA 3x Platinum certification in the United States, along with multi-platinum and gold certifications internationally. The song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and topped the Canada Country chart, becoming one of the defining songs of Davis's career.
